PTO Questions
What is the PTO?
The Malcolm White PTO is organized for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the educational experience of the Malcolm White Elementary School’s students by: (1) providing an organization which the parents, school, and teachers can work cooperatively; and (2) provide financial support for programs funded outside of the annual school budget. The organization is led by an executive board that consists of the principal, a teacher representative and the following roles: President, Vice President – Fundraising, Treasurer, Secretary, and Enrichment Officer.
A few things to note about our PTO:
- It operates as a charity
- No member, officer or school employee is paid for their service
- It is not affiliated with any political party or candidate
- All are welcome to participate
Who is "in" the PTO?
Any adult that is a caregiver of a Malcolm White student is welcomed to join the PTO.
When and where are the meetings?
Meetings are held monthly from September-June, either in person at the Malcolm White or remotely via video conferencing. Please check out our meetings page for more information including the schedule for the coming school year.

How can I get involved?

Malcolm White Elementary Questions
How do I contact the school?
(781) 937-8242 is the main line. Listen to the menu for options such as, connecting to the school nurse, reporting an absence or tardy, or to speak directly with the school secretary.
Does the school offer before or after school care?

What time is drop-off and pick-up?
The school doors open at 8:15 am and close at the start of school at 8:25am. If you are late, the student will need to enter through the front doors and will be marked tardy. School ends at 2:50 pm. These times include Kindergarten since it is full day in Woburn.
Where do I drop off my Kindergartener?
At the start of the year, you will use the kindergarten doors in the back of the school (right side of the school if you are looking directly at it). You must walk the student to the door and pick up at the door as well. Eventually, pick up and drop off will move to the side door where first grade enters and exits. You will be notified when this change occurs.
How do I contact my child(ren)'s teacher?
Reaching out to your child(ren)’s teacher by email or through Remind app. This allows them to respond without taking time out from class time.
Is lunch free?
Yes, lunch is provided for free to all students. A monthly menu can be found on the Woburn Public School website.
Who is my child’s teacher?
Kindergarteners will be assigned to a class after they have had the opportunity to meet with all three teachers and interact in small groups with many if not all of the other students. This process allows staff to thoughtfully place students after meeting and working with them. Teacher assignments will be shared on Friday September 5th after dismissal.
How do I access my child(ren)'s report card?
Once you have received an activation code from the school (when your child either enters the school through Kindergarten or from another district), you can access your child(ren)’s report card by going to PowerSchool. If you need help accessing the site, please contact help@woburnps.com.
How do I know which bus route to take?
Look on the Woburn Public School website for the bus routes. Each bus stop is listed and you can figure out which stop works best for your student.

What is the kindergarten schedule for the first two days of school?
The first two days of school for Kindergarteners are half days with a 12:30pm dismissal.
Kindergarten Screening
As part of your child’s entrance to kindergarten, your child will participate in a screening process.
The screening takes approximately 10-15 minutes.
The screening will take place on the first two days of school.
The child will be screened in the areas of Language, Cognition, Gross Motor, Visual/Motor, Adaptive
There is nothing that you should do to prepare your child for the screening.
An email will be sent home following the screening regarding the information that was gathered.
Kindergarten Placement
Principals will email families at the end of the day on Friday, September 5th with your child’s assigned teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
